The story behind Plastic Move

From a Simple Idea to a Bigger Vision

Turning an idea into a real-world solution takes more than imagination. It takes years of research, experimentation, determination and the courage to challenge conventional thinking.

2015

What began with our founder Büşra Köksal’s early research into surplus bread and starch-rich by-products gradually developed into an innovative approach to material production.

2019

In 2019, this scientific journey evolved into Plastic Move. That same year, participation in the Hamdi Ulukaya Initiative’s entrepreneurship program in New York helped shape the transition from an academic project into a business with industrial ambitions.

But developing a new material was only the beginning. The next challenge was proving that the technology could work beyond the laboratory.

Through collaborations and industrial trials with established manufacturers, including Sarten Packaging and Evyap, Plastic Move began translating years of research into practical applications. These early achievements paved the way for investment, expanded production capabilities and new opportunities for growth.

As the company evolved, so did its vision.
2024

In 2024, PM Biomaterials was established to focus on the development and industrial production of patented bio-based materials derived from starch-rich industrial by-products.

Plastic Move continued its journey with a clearer purpose: bringing that material innovation into everyday life through functional, reusable foodservice products.

2026

What began as an idea in Istanbul has since grown into an operation based in Bursa, Türkiye, where research, production and product development continue to move forward together.

Today, Plastic Move represents the next chapter of that journey — transforming years of scientific research into products designed for the places where people eat, drink and gather.

From an early experiment with surplus bread to products used in everyday life, our story has always been about seeing possibilities where others see limitations.

A New Chapter in Bursa

With operations continuing in Bursa, we are bringing our experience in material innovation closer to the needs of foodservice businesses.

Our Mission

We Started the Natural Move

A new approach to materials – driven by science, shaped by responsibility.

01

Redefining Plastic Production

We challenge conventional plastic manufacturing by replacing fossil-based inputs with waste-derived biopolymers.

02

Reducing Carbon Impact

Our technology lowers the carbon footprint of plastics while supporting a more circular production model.

03

Turning Waste Into Value

We upcycle industrial food waste into high-performance materials with real industrial applications.

04

Protecting Natural Resources

We eliminate the need for virgin crops and agricultural land, preserving resources for future generations.

Our purpose

A Clear Mission. A Bigger Vision

We believe meaningful change begins with the choices we make every day.

Our mission01

Making Better Material Choices Part of Everyday Life.

Our mission is to make innovative, reusable foodservice products a practical choice for businesses and consumers.

By combining thoughtful design, functionality and bio-based material innovation, we aim to bring a different approach to the products people use every day.

Our vision02

Rethinking the Future of Foodservice.

We envision a future where foodservice products are designed to be used again, and valuable resources are given new possibilities.

Our ambition is to help shape an industry that makes more thoughtful use of materials, reduces unnecessary waste and embraces innovation as part of everyday life.

Explore how we turn waste into high-performance solutions.
